Winter Break Pottery Mini Camps at Friend Assembly

December 22-23, Jan 2 & 5

Ages 5-10 | 9AM-12PM | Handbuilding Class
Ages 10-15 | 1PM-4PM | Altered Wheel Throwing

Handbuilding Class (Ages 5-10)

Learn pinch pots, coils, and slab construction while exploring texture, functionality, and form. Perfect for all experience levels and fine motor skill development!

Altered Wheel Throwing (Ages 10-15)

Master wheel throwing basics—centering, opening, and pulling walls—then add sculptural elements using handbuilding techniques. Follow themes or create your own artistic vision!

December 22-23 (2-Day Camp): Holiday Gnomes & Handmade Holidays

  • Ages 5-10 (Handbuilding): Create your own holiday gnomes themed as snowpeople, Santa, or the Grinch! Construct on Day 1, glaze on Day 2.

  • Ages 10-15 (Wheel Throwing): Design winter and holiday-inspired wheel-thrown pieces featuring winter animals, trees, snowy scenes, and Colorado mountains.

January 2 & 5 (2-Day Camp): Hot Cocoa Mugs

  • Ages 5-10 (Handbuilding): Make penguin or polar bear hot cocoa mugs perfect for snowy days! Construct on Day 1, glaze on Day 2.

  • Ages 10-15 (Wheel Throwing): Throw penguin or polar bear hot cocoa mugs on the wheel with altered sculptural elements.
